Project Engineer (PE)
JOB DESCRIPTION: The project engineer is responsible for complete design, analysis, and proper drafting of a project, including plan check responses and answering contractor and project owner questions.
SUPERVISES: A successful project engineer may supervise one to two EITs and one to three structural drafters, as needed.
REQUIRED:
Current Professional Engineer licensure/registration in Oregon, Washington, or California (all licenses must be in good standing);
Four or more years of engineering experience in structural engineering of commercial and/or residential buildings;
Strong written and spoken communication skills (fluent in English);
Able to effectively prioritize and meet deadlines;
Sound understanding of engineering and construction practices;
Computer literate - must be proficient at using Excel, email, open and navigate AutoCAD, and use engineering design software.
PREFERRED:
Construction experience, ideally in carpentry (rough framing);
Master degree focusing on structural engineering coursework;
Able to perform basic drafting modifications in AutoCAD.

Engineer-in-Training (EIT)
JOB DESCRIPTION: The EIT is responsible for completing the design, analysis, and proper drafting of a project under the supervision of a licensed engineer, including plan check responses and answering contractor and project owner questions. (The availability of this position varies. EITs with two or more years of design experience are always encouraged to apply, while less experienced positions are available less frequently.)
SUPERVISES: No supervisory responsibilities. Upon professional licensure as a PE, this position is likely to lead to project engineer.
REQUIRED:
Current EIT registration in a western US state (in good standing);
Bachelor degree in civil or structural engineering from an accreditted university (please no non-structural/civil applicants);
Strong written and spoken communication skills (fluent in English);
Able to effectively prioritize and meet deadlines;
Sound understanding of engineering and construction practices;
Computer literate - must be proficient at using Excel, email, open and navigate AutoCAD, and use engineering design software.
PREFERRED:
Two or more years of engineering experience in structural engineering of commercial and/or residential buildings;
Construction experience, ideally in carpentry (rough framing);
Master degree focusing on structural engineering coursework;

Structural Drafter
JOB DESCRIPTION: The structural drafter is responsible for following the engineer's instructions to complete organized, neat, and useful structural drawings for submission to building departments and use during construction.
REQUIRED:
Associates degree in AutoCAD drafting which may be substituted with two years of full time AutoCAD drafting experience in the employ of a structural engineer or licensed architect;
Strong written and spoken communication skills (fluent in English);
Able to effectively prioritize and meet deadlines;
Understanding of design and construction terminology and drafting as it relates to structural drawings;
Computer literate - must be proficient at using Excel, email, open and navigate AutoCAD, and use engineering design software.
PREFERRED:
Two or more years of structural drafting experience;
Construction experience, ideally in carpentry (rough framing);
Bachelor degree in computer-aided drafting.
